Happy National Fruitcake Day!

December 27th is National Fruitcake Day and December is National Fruitcake Month.

What is a fruitcake? - is a cake made  with a chopped candied fruit or dried fruit, nuts, spices and soaked in spirits (optionally).
Originating in ancient egypt, they were often placed inside tombs because they were believed to be essential for the journey to the afterlife.

It is very appropriate for National Fruitcake Day to be celebrated shortly after Christmas. Once the holidays are over, it's time to get rid of your fruitcake. Giving a fruitcake is a Christmas tradition for many. It is also believed that recipients will re-wrap the fruitcake and give it to someone else. Who knows how many years, or decades, a fruitcake has been passed along? Ultimately, the trick is to make sure you give away the fruitcake before the holiday season is through. Otherwise, you get the joy of storing it, until the next fruitcake-giving season.
Those with a sweet tooth can celebrate by eating a slice or two. Otherwise, we suggest you use this day to give your fruitcake to someone....:-)

CDK has a fruicake recipe gift for us...So, visit their website now @ http://www.cdkitchen.com/recipes/articles/view/388/1/National-Fruitcake-Day.html
Enjoy! HAPPY FRUITCAKE DAY!

Happy Boxing Day!

Today is......Boxing Day!!!

It is the 360th day of the year, and in the 52nd week of the year (assuming each week starts on a Sunday).

Boxing Day is also known as St. Stephen's Day....In Whole Britain, like Christmas Day, Boxing day is also a Public Holiday.Traditionally, 26 December was the day to open the christmas box to share the contents with the poor. The Christmas box was a wooden or clay container where people placed gifts.

In recent times, some shops have broken from tradition and started opening on Boxing Day to start the new year sales. Hundreds of people now spend Boxing Day morning in queues outside shops, waiting to be the first to dive for the sales racks as the doors opened. So Good luck with your after holiday shopping!

Let your life will always be interesting and full of happiness!!! Many things have changed – moral, prices, fashion. Only your love remains immutable. KEEP it UP!

A Blog that INSPIRES Me today......

We could spend our nights together and maybe one day, our lives together. We could grow older and watch our lives change as we become the people we always really wanted to be. We could cuddle up in our king sized bed, because we can't handle anything smaller than that, and kiss all night long. We'll wake up in the morning and you'll have your coffee. We'll kiss each other goodbye and return home eight hours later, waiting to greet one another at the door. We'll eat our dinner, cooked by you of course, and slip into bed shortly after. We'll maybe fool around and tell stories about our days and then we'll shut our eyes and wake up to another day and another period in our lives. We'll have a
couple kids, a boy and a girl, and we'll watch as they grow up and we'll grow older. We'll lose our youth and they'll find theirs and then we'll slip into bed quietly with our hands intertwined. We'll shut our eyes and wake up in the morning and suddenly we're old and grey. You'll drink your coffee in the mornings, just like you always used to, and you'll kiss my forehead as you walk out to get the newspaper. We'll sit down and reflect on the times that we were young and the one time that you almost burned down your apartment on a nice summer day. Later on, we'll crawl into bed and sit side by side, reading our separate books until we can't keep our eyes open. You'll tell me that you love me and whisper into the darkness that you'll see me in the morning, hoping that I'll still be there when you wake up.....

'Whatever,' 'like' deemed most annoying words in Marist study

"Whatever" is really the most annoying word in conversation.
For the second straight year, a Marist (N.Y.) College report says that 'whatever' is the single most annoying word used in casual conversation in a national poll.

Words like "you know" and "like" might be irritating to hear, but for the third year in a row, it's "whatever" that holds the most power to annoy.

"Just sayin" and "seriously" were more forgiving to the ears, though still quite irritating , Marist Found.

Ka-blog!.., therefore be cautious!, so stop stuffing “whatever”  into your conversations, unless, you would intentionally want to annoy some one.Anyway, 'WHATEVER,' the choice is yours :) YOU KNOW! ;-)

6. Major! Major!
7. OMG!
8.So What!
9.You know! - Baka magalit sa atin si Manny Paquiao! you know ;-)
10.Ako Budoy!

"Tangerine Tango" - Pantone colour of 2012

The Pantone Color Institute has named “Tangerine Tango,” the colour to watch out for next year (2012).

'Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive' said Leatrice Eiseman

"Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it," said Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of Pantone Color Institute.

Described as a "Spirited reddish orange", Tangerine Tango is decpited as: "reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, marrying the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy".

The colour provides the energy boost we need to recharge and move forward.

The electric color is likely to manifest itself strongly in fashion, as the color popped up all over the runways in spring collections.

The color specialists at Pantone hope the orangey-red hue will give us optimism for the next 12 months.

Energize interior spaces as well with Tangerine Tango.Paint a wall in Tangerine Tango for a dynamic burst of energy in the kitchen, entryway or hallway.

Indian Headdress

Indian Chief Headdress

The perfect accessory for the festival season!   whether if it is for fancy dress or serious cowboys. This is the headdress for yah! INDIAN HEADDRESS!  I ended up googling about these Indian Headdresses....;-)

Although we may not know the symbolic meaning of Indian headdress, many people find them to be beautiful work of art.It is believed that the Sioux Indians created what is thought of as the traditional Indian headdress. This is the feathered headdress often seen on warriors and chiefs in paintings and pictures. Only the most brave and powerful of the tribe wore headdresses.

Before the invasion on their land of the white man, the custom of wearing Indian headdress spread through the many tribes. However, each headdress varies from tribe to tribe as it represents the culture of each tribe. The individual wearing it would often customize Indian headdresses, thus making it unique to that individual.

Each time the warrior earned a feather, he would either wear it (but he only wore a couple into battle) or put it on a pole used for special occasions. Once he had collected enough feathers, they were then made into a headdress. Because each feather had a special meaning, binding them together in a headdress made that Indian headdress even more special. Only the men, closest friends of the warrior, were involved in making the headdress. The Indian chiefs also “earned” each of their feathers. The most prized of all feathers to receive for an Indian headdress was the Golden Eagle.feather. Because the Indians saw the eagle as a messenger of God, this feather could only be earned through hardship, loyalty, and strength.

Love This!

Just an Update guys...I Won!!! The Best Female

    What’s worth knowing?......

It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing. It doesn’t interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dream, for the adventure of being alive. It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon. I want to know if you have touched the center of your own sorrow, if you have been opened by life’s betrayals or have become shriveled and closed from fear of further pain. I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine or your own, without moving to hide it or fade it, or fix it.”-Oriah Mountain Dreamer
